After 19 years and over 105K miles the gear stick and handbrake gaiters became very tired looking, with cracking to the leather-effect finish. There’s were therefore replaced with a real leather gaiter set.
Both the original gear and handbrake gaiters are fitted to a plastic frame, these need to be removed and reused for the new gaiters.
The hand brake gaiter simply slots into the frame, but the gear gaiter is stapled onto the frame therefore it needs to be re-stapled when refitting (sorry no photos of this step). In all its a 10 minute job and makes a really big difference to the look of the interior.
